Its a beautiful morning!

Hi everyone! I took a little break to pamper and baby my twins…I haven’t done that in a moment and I knew now was a good time to do it. I felt that blogging needed to be done, but my kids needed their mom first. I have learned so much in this week of not blogging, like the fact that I miss it.

The fact that I really want to make this blog work…more so as a journey and a lifestyle blog, yes, I know…another lifestyle blog. But as I started thinking about this, I knew I couldn’t just be another lifestyle blog, I wanted to be different, targeted toward a single mom with kids, with a budget, not just one of those blogs where all you see are the pretty things and know right away you can’t afford it…but simple lifestyle changes that add more meaning. Thank you Lisa for your advice! It literally was life changing and moving for me.

As most of my followers or readers know that “My Life of Three” is about me, my twins, and my journey after having kids and just, well our life.

A big part of my life and not just my kids is my wedding and event planning business, Erika Swift Events. I love weddings mostly but planning anything had long been something I love.

This year we placed 4th in the Denver’s A List.  I was so excited and so thankful to the ones who voted for me and my business.  Thank you! This marks something so special for me.  To see the hard work pay off and the joy from the feeling alone, it is an amazing feeling.

No matter what life throws at you, be passionate in doing what makes you happy, then you will always be happy.

What do you think about giveaways?

I think giveaways are amazing and simply fun. I love the followers/fans interaction with the sponsors, the other bloggers, and just good ole fun. Being able to host a giveaway is fun as well, and I can’t wait to host my own. I really want to do that this fall/winter. Of course, I would like to do something along the lines that deals with single moms, multiple kids, or a family base giveaway.

I entered a giveaway last night and I do hope I win. It was about vacation and you had to write an original blog post to their questions.  I loved it and each topic made you want to pick that one and write more and more on it. However, I contained myself and simply went with one topic.

I have lots of blogging opportunities to start and do a giveaway and I would love your support. I’m also going to be starting a 60 day video challenge, check out my other blog for more information on that. So the moment I get or start a giveaway, I will be sure to let you know.

My Monday Morning Moment!

It’s Monday and we are very sorry for not posting on Wednesday or Friday. We love to blog but most importantly, we love to make sure our readers/followers/and those you comment are enjoying our content as well. We’ve been so busy, it’s been crazy. I love taking time to make sure that everyone’s needs are taken care of, that my assistants are using their time wisely, and that my family life is just as happy as my brides.

I am dedicating this Monday Morning Moment to a bride and groom I just enjoyed working with.  Their love and just simplicity of life for each other, their family, their faith was simply stunning and amazing. I thought to myself, “Is it really that simply?” Why, yes, yes it is.

Not only is it that simply, but being happy, falling in love and really enjoying life makes things simply. I have just learned to embrace things, really watch my kids and simply smile at them. I’ve learned to slow down, even if my mind is racing, my body has slowed, which in the end slows my mind down as well. I didn’t think being in love was for me, I am not the prettiest, the most talented, or the smartest, but I do love being me and learning that has been hard. However, learning this, I have been able to just take things in.

If things don’t come simple for you, that is ok. Things have always been a challenge for me to remember, obtain, or simply just enjoy. However, sometimes, we have to take the moments in life and simply be simple. Enjoy those moments, whatever they may be. Enjoy them with your special someone, enjoy them by yourself, or enjoy them with friends. However, take a moment out of your day and simply enjoy them.
 Thanks,
Erika S.

It is Friday!!

It’s Friday!!! It is time for announcements! So, I love wedding and event planning & traveling. I have combined those loves and passions and made them my businesses!

I re-opened my business, Wedded Designs, but under another name, it is now, Erika Swift Events. With a different look, another brand, and a new direction, we’ve embraced our more luxurious side. We have been working connections in Washington, D.C. and here in the Denver, Colorado area. Our business is geared towards clients and brides that have a luxurious lifestyle, a busier life, and wants someone to handle all their details and then some. We can do that. Check out our website at and our FB page and our blog.

Another business venture I am going into is being a travel agent with a lovely company.

MOM
{Moms on the move}

A travel agency dedicated to middle income and single moms. We handle all types of travel arrangements, for busy moms, families, etc. We also work with corporate clients and work with a company called Granted; they are a personal concierge service that helps locating that special thing you want that no one else seems to find.
Check out both of these businesses and make sure to follow our blogs and check out our Facebook pages.

Change...I don't think I have any :)

In all our journeys of life, we have to accept the changes that come with it. My twins and I have dealt with many changes...some good, some bad, but all worth it. Changes help us create balance and structure and help us to accept something that isn't working for us.

So this post will be short because I am gearing up for a fantastic blog hop...I have never done one before and am beyond excited. From what information I have found out about a blog hop is that you add a link to your site (May Blog Roll) and then "hop" to each blog, follow, read, and comment on their posts (commenting optional I believe) and then you have built followers and can also now post to an actual audience.

This is so exciting for me and if you have never done one, and want to do one, check out Bloggy Moms May Blog Hop. This site is one of my favorites and I am so happy I found this site. +Tiffany Noth  has been an amazing inspiration to blog, to learn about blogging, to create a site for moms, and its brought/taught me so much! I hope to attend her blog-ference (conference) in Sept, I am working on that goal now.

As you also know, I wanted to make my blog more money and income savvy, I would like to bring in advertisers on my website, link my blog to my website, and just bring in some little extra income. I want my blog to be a mom two twins, single mom, and mommy inspirational site. I want to start posting more pictures of the things me and the twins have done and will be doing. I would like to post our science projects, our outings and adventures, and just what consists of our journey.

I would also like my site to be popular and to host giveaways, do reviews, and work with other blogging moms or giveaway sites to host huge prize giveaways. I know...I know...one thing at a time and for me that is getting more structured. I now have a blog post listing for myself that I will do on each day. For instance, on Fridays, it will be Fantastic Fridays, showing all the wonderful things that have happened on that Friday, and what made it fantastic for us. So watch out for these wonderful days :)

I guess this wasn't so short after all. I hope you all enjoy our blog and continue to follow us.

Thanks,
Erika S.

Another journeys great

What is the greatest thing in the world?

Each person’s answer is going to be different. From their personal background, to their beliefs in life as an adult. Each person has a different outlook for the way they term what is the greatest thing in the world or what is important to them.

For me, it is my kids and I love them. They saved my life and they gave me life. I may get frustrated with them and I may see them as rambunctious kids, but I love them so much.

This journey of mine is very hard. Right now, I have been going through some rough things and trying to be a balance for my twins. However, they have been so amazing and so wonderful. Two beautiful creatures God gave us and it’s amazing how they are….how much they could mean to someone.

Life is about how you make it. 90% of life is problems, situations, etc…10% is how we react to it. I know some may see that has backwards, but it is important for me to see and understand it that life is major or throws us many curve balls and 10% of life is all how I handle it, since life is not promised to us even for tomorrow.

I hope everyone can sit down and see what their greatness is, not only within themselves, but also within others. Seeking to find my own happiness has led to a lot of tears for my past, a lot of smiles for my present, and many giggles and stomach rolls for my future.

Life is one amazing journey and it is all in how we look at it. Take a moment to see how you look at and within things.

Love,
Erika
